The Narcos season 3 trailer was released on Friday and gives viewers a sense of the action and drama that’s coming to Netflix on Sept. He’ll be the one who has to bring down the Cali Cartel just like he helped bring down Escobar.
That just means more screen time for Agent Pena, played by Pedro Pascal. The man who killed Escobar got his target that he chased for so long. Not only is Wagner Moura off the show as Escobar, but Agent Murphy, played by Boyd Holbrook, is gone. For better or worse, Narcos is not going to be the same. In an exclusive interview with the Sun Online in November 2016, Marroquin said, I have the absolute certainty that my father committed suicideCoroners who did. Now that they are the top dog in the drug game, they are the show. But otherslike Escobar’s son, Sebastian Marroquin (who changed his name from Juan Pablo Escobar)claims the world’s wealthiest drug dealer committed suicide when cornered. The subjects of the Cali Cartel have already been introduced so they’re not entirely new, but they served as a secondary or even third storyline last season. Enter the Cali Cartel, which will be the primary subject this season. With Escobar out of the drug empire equation, a new force must step in and fill that void and distribute the cocaine to the United States. Things will take a radical left turn in season 3 of Narcos but the blow must go on.

Despite being the villain on the Netflix Original series for two seasons, he was also the main character and likely the only reason many viewers watched the series.
Don Pablo died in season 2, a storyline viewers knew in advance was coming, but that doesn’t mean the loss of Escobar will be any easier.
